But, I found that one of the best places to book a rainforest hotel is in Monteverde. The town is located in northwest Costa Rica and is known for cloud forests (yes, seriously) wildlife, and suspended bridges over the forest canopy. It’s pretty much a dream, and travelers can actually arrange a rainforest hotel in Monteverde.

There are a ton of rainforest hotels in Monteverde. Honestly, once someone realized how much travelers wanted to experience this place, the hotels started popping up like weeds. While doing a bit of Googling, I became pretty overwhelmed with the options. So, I decided to break them down by looking at location, amenities, and special highlights of staying in each. There are some fantastic rainforest hotels in Monteverde, but I decided to do a little research on the best options so you don’t have to.
The Best Rainforest Hotels in Monteverde
Cloud Forest Lodge
The Hotel: This hotel has a garden, a terrace, and a shared lounge. Continental breakfast is served daily in the lodge, and the on-site restaurant offers a diverse menu of local dishes throughout the day. There is free WIFI, free parking, an on-site cocktail bar, and common areas that overlook the rainforest.
The Rooms: The rooms have lots of natural sunlight, wood-paneled walls, local artwork, and local bedding designs. Each unit has a terrace that overlooks the forest. And, there is a en-suite bathroom with a shower.
The Location: This hotel is located about a 20-minute walk from Sky Adventures Monteverde, and 1.8 miles from Selvatura Adventure Park. It’s an 18-minute walk from Monteverde Ecological Sanctuary, 2.1 miles from Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, and 43 miles from the Tambor Airport.
Highlights: Lots of bird feeders around the property for spying on hummingbirds, the traditional, home-made food on site. The views of the forest from the terrace.

The Rooms: Each room has a private bathroom, and some have their own kitchenette. Many have a lounge area that overlooks the forest from the large windows. You’ll have plenty of natural light, and lots of local artwork to look at. Most of the rooms have their own terrace for looking at the views.
The Location: The lodge is 34 miles from Lake Arenal and Playa Blanca Beach. Arenal Volcano National Park is 62 miles away. Guests can drive to Juan Santamaria and San Jose International airports in 2.5 hours.
Highlights: The hotel offers activity bookings for hikes and horseback riding.
